Pope Francis is to visit Ireland in August next year according to the Vatican who confirmed the news yesterday. The announcement comes four months after Taoiseach Enda Kenny announced what will be a landmark trip.

A senior Vatican official told journalists that Pope Francis “will do everything he can” to attend the World Meeting of Families. But should he be welcomed considering there are still a massive amount of Catholics in this country?

So the simple question I want to ask you today is - would you welcome a visit by Pope Francis to Ireland?
