Vera Twomey is the mother from Cork who has captured the attention and imagination of the Irish public. She has walked over 260km from Cork to Dáil Éireann in Dublin as a protest against the government"s restrictions on medication that sees her seven-year-old daughter denied cannabis-based medication that relieve the agony of her rare epilepsy condition.
Classic Hits 4FM reporter Robbie, joined Vera on her epic walk as she reached Dublin. She told us the pains that she experienced on her trek and demanded to meet Health Minister Simon Harris to discuss the health issues of her daughter Ava.
There was a carnival atmosphere as Vera came to the ed of her journey and we were with her every step of the way. We even asked for the Gardai to give her a police escort.
So many people are support #Veratwomey who is in a wheelchair and travelling to the Dail from Cork. Cmon @GardaTraffic give her an escort!
