State-run primary schools are taking formal religious instruction for pupils off the timetable.

The decision is being made by the Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) and comes after years of discussion over the place of religion teaching in primary schools.

Education Minister Richard Bruton said he welcomed the direction in which the ETBI was moving but we asked if you were?
